With all the AJAX related posts recently, I thought I'd submit EyeOS. With a PHP compatiable server, you can login to this virtual desktop system and upload files, write text documents, setup calendering and a load more stuff. Definitely one of the best uses of the technology I've seen. I have installed it on my server at eyeos.worthlessplanet.com and it seems to run very well.

Get an AJAX-based desktop
